Somehow they opened the driver door (must have used a bar because the keylock is non operational - I disconnected it a year ago and only use the remote). They tried to start it and screwed up the ignition. The key will not go in anymore (not all the way) and it won't turn. I had the car towed to safety and now I'm thinking I'll remove the ignition, take it to a shop to fix it and put it back in. Is it possible to remove the ignition as a DYI, how hard is it, any special tools? What other options do I have? I was told I can have a special key made which is very thin so they won't ever be able to stick the key breaker in anymore. Please advise and I hope it doesn't ever happen to anyone of ya.
